Executive Director
Marian Biehn is the Executive Director at the Whittier Alliance.
Marian's responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operations
and development of the Alliance and the neighborhood including
strategic planning, annual budget, implementation of the Whittier NRP
Action Plan, personnel, and various Task Forces. As ED she supports the
Board of Directors, as well as the Resource Development, Finance,
Executive, Business Association and Community Issues committees. Her
work focuses on the advancement of the Whittier neighborhood in the
areas of improved livability, economic, business and housing
development. Marian has a BA from the College of St. Catherine, in St. Paul. Previous experience includes employment with the International Institute of Minnesota, joint ownership and management of a commercial art studio with her husband, and directorship of Business Programs at the Minneapolis Athletic Club. She has been an active member of the Whittier neighborhood for over 25 years as a rental property owner, neighborhood volunteer, Rental Property Owner Committee chair and a member of the Board of Directors.
Community Organizer
Josie Shardlow is the Community Organizer for the Whittier Alliance.
Josie's responsibilities include supporting the Community Issues
committee, safety and youth issues, and community building through
outreach activities and events. Josie has a degree in Spanish and
Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been
with the Whittier Alliance for over 3 years. Previously, she worked
at Community Action of Suburban Hennepin as a Home Buyer Counselor.
Josie has lived in Latin America and Europe, and has traveled extensively.
